Porsche Informatik, a 100% subsidiary of Porsche Holding, needed a reliable way to keep its rapidly evolving IT environment available during a major software and infrastructure overhaul. To support the rollout of the CROSSS 2 system without unexpected downtime, the company turned to LINBIT and DRBD® for high availability.

LINBIT helped Porsche Informatik build a two-server cluster using Heartbeat and DRBD®, with synchronous real-time data replication between the servers. This setup enabled automatic failover without data loss and let the company avoid expensive storage hardware, delivering a cost-efficient open source high-availability solution for critical applications such as its web and communication services.
