DuPage County Health Department needed a faster, safer way to run high-volume COVID-19 drive-through testing with less manual paperwork and shorter waits. LigoLab’s TestDirectly direct-to-consumer lab testing portal was used to replace handwritten forms and manual data entry at the county’s Wheaton, Illinois testing site.

With LigoLab’s TestDirectly workflow, patients preregistered online, specimen labels and barcodes were automatically generated, and results were delivered through the portal much sooner. The county eliminated 50% of its onsite data entry team, expanded specimen collection capacity, opened another drive-through lane, and typically returned PCR results within 4 to 6 hours after specimen arrival, helping staff follow up quickly on positive cases.
