Kiewit lays out 2,101 MEP anchor points in 4 days with LightYX

Kiewit Canada faced the challenge of efficiently laying out over 2,000 MEP anchor points across a 9,500 square foot area for a rail transportation project. Using a conventional total station workflow for such a dense point layout was projected to take months. To overcome this, they turned to vendor LightYX and its BeamerOne projection system.

LightYX implemented its solution by projecting the digital layout directly onto the field slab, allowing a crew to visually mark the anchor points. This approach enabled a one-person crew from Kiewit to complete 2,101 points in just four days, averaging 525 points per day. LightYX dramatically reduced the project duration from an estimated several months to a matter of days, resulting in a 500% boost in layout productivity.
