Goodwill cut down operating costs with Lightspeed

Goodwill, a U.S. nonprofit retailer selling donated apparel and home goods, needed a better way to manage its weekly color-coded discounts, streamline inventory across locations, and replace an outdated point of sale system. Inconsistent pricing schemes between stores were confusing customers and creating extra work for staff; Goodwill worked with Lightspeed and partner Business Cents to find a retail solution.

With Lightspeed Retail, Lightspeed Analytics, and Lightspeed Payments, Goodwill standardized pricing, improved reporting, and automated much of its process. The result was a drop in prove-out time from 40 hours a week to 5, merchant processing fees were cut in half, payroll costs fell by about $30,000 a year, and managers were able to catch employee theft more quickly.
