How Gong Enabled Secure Production Debugging Across their Entire Engineering Organization with Lightrun

Gong, a revenue intelligence platform company with hundreds of developers, needed a better way to debug complex production issues across AWS EC2 and EKS without relying on costly static logs or slow redeployments. Its Java/Spring-based application runs at massive scale, serving hundreds of thousands of users and millions of transactions per minute, making local reproduction of issues difficult and expensive.

Using Lightrun’s secure production debugging platform, including the IntelliJ IDE plugin, Java agent, dynamic snapshots/traces, and logs, Gong engineers were able to investigate live issues directly from their IDEs without hotfixing or changing application state. Lightrun helped Gong reduce MTTR significantly, cut debugging time from hours to minutes in many cases, and improve developer productivity while reducing static logging costs.
