Case Study: Wincanton achieves improved maintenance management and audit-ready reporting with Lighthouse Systems' Shopfloor-Online

A Lighthouse Systems Case Study

Preview of the Wincanton Case Study

Wincanton packs new functionality into maintenance management with Lighthouse Shopfloor-Online

Wincanton, a leading UK logistics company running a pet‑food packing plant in Wisbech, needed to replace an underperforming maintenance system that limited access, reporting and usability ahead of a client audit requiring at least six months’ of data. Engineering Manager Terry Holland selected Lighthouse Systems and its web‑based Shopfloor‑Online after demonstrations showed the product could deliver the required reporting, browser access and in‑house configurability.

Lighthouse Systems migrated legacy data into Shopfloor‑Online, configured asset and PM structures, and implemented barcode‑enabled spares and inventory management; Wincanton logged £313,000 of spares (20,000+ items), can perform monthly stock takes and weekly reorder reports, and records engineers’ activities in real time. The Lighthouse Systems deployment achieved accepted audit evidence, faster fault reporting and response, improved inventory control and resource prioritisation, and a scalable platform for future PDA and process improvements.
