SHOPFLOOR-ONLINETM from Lighthouse Systems enhances product component traceability, quality check information visibility, and line efficiency

GTECH, a global gaming-machine manufacturer, faced manual, paper-based build and quality processes at its Moncton facility that made traceability, build validation and timely issue resolution difficult—especially for roughly 400 parts per machine with ~15% designated as critical. After a vendor selection process GTECH chose Lighthouse Systems and its Shopfloor-OnlineTM MES to increase efficiency and improve component traceability and quality visibility.

Lighthouse Systems implemented Shopfloor-OnlineTM to capture goods-in serial data, verify critical parts at point-of-use, create electronic Build Records, automate quality checks and provide real-time shop-floor KPIs and operator dashboards. The system eliminated paper build folders, prevented wrong-part installation, sped issue resolution and delivered measurable gains: about $30,000/year savings on paper, 0.10 man-hour saved on paper handling per job, an estimated ~5% productivity increase and expected cost reductions exceeding $450,000 for 2014.
