Nissan Sunderland Improves Powertrain QA with Lighthouse MES Software

Nissan Motor Manufacturing Ltd. (Powertrain division) was challenged by a huge volume of disparate shop-floor data from machines, CMMs and stand-alone databases that made it difficult for operators, engineers and managers to extract accurate, timely information for decision-making and reporting. Seeking a web-based, low-cost factory information system that could scale and be accessed from any PC, Nissan selected Lighthouse Systems’ Shopfloor-Online to replace paper-based and fragmented SPC systems.

Lighthouse Systems implemented Shopfloor-Online to integrate multiple data sources (including Mitutoyo and Zeiss CMMs), deliver real-time visibility, colour-coded alerts, drill-down analysis and emailed notifications. The solution reduced manual data extraction, enabled monitoring of thousands of features with selective SPC limits to flag issues before they occur, improved operational efficiency and quality control, and provided a single source of truth across the plant — outcomes driven by Lighthouse Systems’ Shopfloor-Online.
