Nissan introduces new model into production faster with Shopfloor-Online MES software

Nissan Motor Manufacturing Ltd. faced a data-management and quality-control challenge for the Qashqai new-model launch: thousands of measurements (more than 4,500 variables per vehicle) arriving as spreadsheets, CMM/laser text files and manual checks made analysis slow and error-prone, with over 63 spreadsheets in use. To halve the typical new-model introduction time, Nissan engaged Lighthouse Systems and its Shopfloor-Online factory information system.

Lighthouse Systems implemented Shopfloor-Online to automatically import supplier spreadsheets, CMM and laser data, consolidate all information in a browser-based platform, and provide real-time alerts, graphical analysis and drill-down reporting. The system was designed in nine weeks, supported production trials and helped Nissan Motor Manufacturing Ltd. move the Qashqai into mainstream production in six months (roughly a 50% reduction), enabling faster root-cause identification, transparent decision-making and rapid reporting across the plant.
