Liftoff Helps Bigo Live Reach Over 30% D2 Retention Rates

BIGO LIVE, a Singapore-based live-streaming platform with around 400 million users across 150 countries, wanted to expand its user acquisition efforts while attracting highly retaining users. To test this goal, BIGO LIVE partnered with Liftoff, using its programmatic user acquisition capabilities in markets including the US with a target of 30% D2 retention.

Liftoff optimized campaigns to manage CPI fluctuations post-ATT, tested post-install event optimizations across geos, and paired user acquisition with re-engagement to improve retention. Liftoff also refined creatives by adding a text CTA overlay and multiple content creators, helping increase installs by 23%. In the US, BIGO LIVE reached a 30.57% retention rate, sustained over 30% D2 retention for more than four months, and grew UA spend 2x in four months, later expanding with Liftoff into 15+ new markets.
