Lotum, a mobile game developer with over 900 million downloads, engaged vendor Liftoff's GameRefinery service to gain deeper market insights. Their challenge was to support data-driven design decisions for their games, particularly for the hit puzzle title 4 Pics 1 Word, and to identify key feature trends in the casual gaming space without expanding their small, agile teams.
Liftoff's GameRefinery provided the solution by granting Lotum access to feature-level data and market analysis. This allowed teams to analyze feature popularity, study the evolution of top games, and reduce production costs by reviewing existing feature implementations. The tool was also used for company-wide education on market best practices.
