The Co-op Group, a major UK retailer, sought to acquire new app members at scale while maintaining low costs. Their initial strategies with foundational channels like Google UAC and Apple Search Ads were increasing their cost per action (CPA) for sign-ups, limiting their ability to reach larger audiences. Their agency, Dentsu, brought in Liftoff to help address this challenge.
Using Liftoff's Accelerate ML and Creative Studio services, the campaign was optimized to reach new users, including mobile gamers, with engaging creative formats. This solution drove quality user acquisition at a significantly lower CPA, with both iOS and Android campaigns consistently outperforming targets. As a result, Liftoff’s share of acquisition became twice that of other channels, leading the Co-op Group to increase their spending with Liftoff by four times.
