A Lifesize Case Study

Preview of the Quincy Newspapers Case Study

When Air Travel was No Longer Cost-Effective, Leading Media Company Turns to LifeSize HD Video Communications

Quincy Newspapers, Inc., a family-owned multimedia company operating 12 TV stations, two newspapers and two radio stations across 14 states with about 800 employees, faced rising travel costs and tighter budgets after selling its company plane. The organization needed a cost-effective alternative that preserved face-to-face interaction, delivered true-to-life HD quality, was easy to deploy, and made financial sense across many locations.

After evaluating options, QNI deployed 16 LifeSize HD systems (Express, Team MP and Room) across its headquarters and regional centers. The solution reduced travel, improved cross-office collaboration, and supported weekly meetings, HR/training, remote interviews and talent coaching; it also enabled a same-day dial-in with all 12 TV stations during an FCC transition, delivered a quick ROI, and opened new uses like lower-cost on-location HD broadcasts.
