Transforming the way the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska communicates with Lifesize

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized tribe with more than 4,000 members spread across a 15‑county service area in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota and served from six office locations rather than a central reservation. With minimal IT resources and staff routinely driving an average of 3.5 hours one way for meetings, the tribe needed a scalable, affordable and easy‑to‑use way to meaningfully connect dispersed offices and members nationwide.

Starting in 2009 the tribe deployed Lifesize room systems, record-and-share capabilities and later moved to Lifesize’s cloud service, adding 11+ Icon systems, Lifesize Share devices and mobile access. Today the tribe averages 250+ video calls per month with about 80 active users, records and streams council and committee meetings so remote members can participate, and saves roughly $80,000 a year in travel—dramatically improving collaboration across programs and communities.
