NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Uses LifeSize HD Video Communications to Optimize Meetings, Enhance Collaboration

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), managed by Caltech for NASA, needed a cost-effective way to bring 5,000 staff, contractors and global partners into more frequent, timely and productive face-to-face meetings without the expense and downtime of travel. JPL sought a solution that preserved eye contact, body language and the dynamics of in-person discussion while reducing travel costs and environmental impact.

CSC piloted and deployed LifeSize Room HD video systems across multiple JPL sites, integrating the solution over the Internet and providing installation guidance and user materials to boost adoption. The result was livelier, more productive collaboration, increased participation and faster issue resolution, plus reduced travel costs, lower environmental impact and plans to expand the rollout to additional conference rooms and partners.
