Liberal Arts College Uses LifeSize HD Video Collaboration to Connect with Sister Campuses, Provide More Educational Opportunities for Students

Hendrix College, a small liberal arts institution of about 1,400 students, needed a way to bring high-quality video collaboration into the classroom to offer learning beyond campus. While the new Student Life and Technology Center had a conferencing space, faculty were slow to integrate the technology and the college sought a dependable, easy-to-use solution that would work reliably in live classroom settings.

Hendrix deployed LifeSize Room 220 systems across classrooms after CIO David Hinson championed the platform for its simplicity and image quality. By joining a consortium of sister campuses and using HD video for activities like live coverage of the Democratic National Convention and joint courses with universities in China, the college expanded course offerings, increased student engagement, and established a scalable blended-learning model.
