Case Study: Thames Valley Police cuts travel and improves communication with Lifesize HD video

A Lifesize Case Study

Preview of the Thames Valley Police Case Study

Largest non-metro police force in England cuts travel, improves communication with HD video

Thames Valley Police, one of England’s largest non-metropolitan forces covering 2,200 sq. miles with 16 stations and over 8,000 staff, needed a reliable way to run multiple daily briefings and reduce long, sometimes hazardous travel. Their existing video system was poor and unreliable, so most meetings were done by phone or in person, costing significant time and resources.

The force deployed more than 20 LifeSize Express HD systems plus an external multipoint control unit, providing easy-to-use, high-quality video and H.239 data sharing. Usage grew to about 170 hours per week, improving communication between BCUs, cutting travel time and expenses, and enabling remote evidence sharing with solicitors.
