A Lifesize Case Study
Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) is a regional health system in northwest Montana with nearly 400 providers serving a large, sparsely populated area. KRH faced major access challenges: some patients drove up to 600 miles to see specialists, visitors needed continuity of care while traveling, and many patients had limited connectivity or mobility that made in-person visits difficult.
KRH expanded its existing Lifesize deployment to a cloud-based telehealth platform and installed Lifesize Icon systems in hospital and clinic conference rooms, creating virtual exam rooms and rolling out staff training in days. The solution let KRH scale rapidly during COVID—telehealth visits jumped from about 115 per month pre‑pandemic to over 6,000 per month at the peak and now average ~2,500 monthly—a more than 2,000% increase over pre‑COVID levels—while achieving over 80% patient satisfaction and improving access, continuity of care, and education delivery.
