K-12 School District Implements LifeSize HD Video Conferencing Technology to Inspire Students, Enrich Learning Experiences

Barrow County Schools, a K–12 district near Atlanta serving nearly 10,000 students, wanted a way to bring experts and richer content into classrooms through “instant expert” sessions. The district needed high-definition, affordable and portable video conferencing so virtual instruction would feel lifelike and could be used across grade levels.

Barrow County deployed LifeSize Express 220 and Team 220 endpoints on portable carts, plus LifeSize Video Center for streaming/recording and LifeSize Bridge to connect more classrooms. The HD system is now used districtwide—examples include a state senator storytelling to multiple schools, a deployed parent joining a first-grade class, and a high school nanotech project with Georgia Tech—boosting student engagement, expanding learning opportunities and inspiring neighboring districts to adopt similar solutions.
