K-12 Nebraska Educational Service Unit Obtains Nearly $500K Grant to Implement LifeSize Technology

Educational Service Unit 10 (ESU 10) in Kearney, Nebraska, supports nearly 30,000 K–12 students across 34 districts and many rural communities. Facing state budget cuts, long travel times and limited local resources, ESU 10 needed a cost-effective way to maintain high-quality instruction and expand access to educational opportunities for students spread across 15 counties.

With help from LifeSize’s Grant Assistance program, ESU 10 secured nearly $500K from the USDA Distance Learning Telemedicine grant (matched to over $800K) and deployed LifeSize HD systems—Express 220, Team 220, Passport and Video Center—across member schools. The implementation cut travel costs, enabled virtual field trips and international classroom collaborations, streamlined special-education conferences and staff development, and delivered an intuitive, richer learning experience for students and teachers.
