Implant Seminars Brings RealTime Dental Implant Surgery to Students Over HD Video

Implant Seminars, founded by oral surgeon Dr. Arun K. Garg, provides hands-on training in dental implant surgery but faced a major challenge: surgical observation is essential yet impractical for large groups—Dr. Garg’s clinic sat two miles from the classroom and prerecorded demos or models couldn’t replicate live, interactive surgery. With high demand for training and few qualified instructors, the program needed a way to bring real-time, lifelike surgery to many students at once.

OmniPresence implemented LifeSize HD videoconferencing (Room and Team systems) with a medical camera, HD projector and DVR to stream live surgeries from the clinic to the classroom, allowing close-up viewing, real-time Q&A and recording of key moments. The high-resolution, bandwidth-efficient solution improved learning, let Implant Seminars scale to larger and remote audiences, and enabled plans for nationwide weekend seminars without requiring students to travel.
