Gordon County School System Improves Classroom Instruction, Maximizes Planning Time, Reduces Costs with LifeSize HD Video

Gordon County School System, a rural K–12 district in northwest Georgia serving about 7,000 students across nine schools, faced steep budget cuts and a severely reduced travel budget. With teachers required to complete annual professional learning units and schools located more than 40 miles apart, the district needed a way to keep 700+ educators connected for professional development, departmental meetings, and training without costly travel.

The district deployed 19 LifeSize HD video systems—stationary Room units and mobile Team carts (two units per school plus one at the administration office)—and leveraged federal E‑Rate discounts to double their purchasing power. The rollout significantly reduced travel and administrative costs, improved district-wide communication and professional development access, and positioned the district to expand into distance learning, virtual field trips, and broader classroom collaboration.
