Case Study: Humanis achieves company-wide consolidation and digital transformation with Liferay

A Liferay Case Study

Preview of the Humanis Case Study

When a collaborative intranet contributes to the Group’s consolidation

Humanis, a joint mutual group formed from a 2012 merger that serves 10 million individuals and 700,000 member companies with 6,400 employees, needed a single collaborative intranet to unify culture and simplify access to content across more than 50 sites. The challenge was to create a principal internal communications and collaboration tool that would promote engagement, discussion and sharing while coping with heterogeneous IT systems and organizational change.

After evaluating around 30 solutions against CMS, collaboration and social networking criteria, Humanis selected Liferay, built a prototype for 300 users, and formed an internal integration team supported by Liferay experts and a design agency. Launched in late 2013 with clear governance, the portal now serves about 8,000 users, records 1.7 million visits per year (visitor traffic grew 113% from 2014–2015), hosts roughly 40 communities using blogs, wikis and document sharing, and is driving the Group’s digital transformation.
