The University of Maine System (UMS) is a statewide public college system linking seven universities and serving more than 40,000 students, faculty and staff. By 2013 its decade-old portal was struggling with performance, growing content and user expectations for mobile, accessible and personalized experiences across multiple campuses and audiences, so UMS needed a modern, omnichannel multi‑campus solution.
