The business needed a fresh, flexible and consistent multilingual digital presence that could scale quickly across regions, reduce time-to-market and lessen marketing’s reliance on IT while supporting future digital growth.
Hays adopted a Liferay platforming strategy—using open-source developer tooling, templated sites and out-of-the-box (OOTB) features for CMS, search, multilingual support and authentication—so engineers could focus on business logic and marketers could self-serve forms and journeys. Delivered in two phases, the programme rolled out 75 sites in 31 countries in 12–18 months, met its primary business goals, reduced IT dependency and established a scalable foundation for ongoing digital delivery.
