A Liferay Case Study
The London Borough of Camden, which serves about 250,000 residents and 25,000 businesses across central and north London, set out to move 85% of its transactions online by 2015 to reduce costs, improve agility and simplify service delivery. Camden faced fragmented, siloed online services that required multiple contacts and were costly and slow for citizens and businesses.
Camden built citizen and business portals on Liferay to provide a single, personalised sign‑on experience with secure transactions, fast integration with legacy systems and social logins, and a highly configurable platform that supported rapid releases (the citizen portal went live in 12 weeks). The new portals have already delivered over £1 million in savings, faster time-to-market and a roadmap for multimillion‑pound future efficiencies and ongoing innovation.
