GRDF, the natural gas distribution subsidiary of ENGIE serving about 11 million customers across France, faced a fragmented digital presence: dozens of regionally built sites with inconsistent design and slow, costly procurement processes. GRDF selected Liferay to build a private‑cloud “Factory as a Service” (SOFIT) with SLAs and an agile delivery model, plus Rapid’Sites for templated event pages. The redesign of grdf.fr and the new platform enabled rapid rollout—requests move from initiation to personalization in 24 hours—and delivered measurable impact: over 200 sites created, grdf.fr launched in four months and saw 140% more visitors, a significant increase in contact requests, and integrated customer services (meter checks, safety assessments, connection requests) with plans for site‑wide search and personalized e‑services.
