Mavir ZRt., the Hungarian transmission system operator responsible for secure, efficient national electricity transmission and market access, needed to replace an outdated corporate portal with a modern, flexible solution that could support future development and a potential intranet. Key requirements included fast, effective extranet communication, page-level roles for content editors and reviewers, and integration with existing infrastructure.

Webtown won the closed tender and implemented Liferay as the front-end platform, delivering standards-compliant, easily integrable portlets (including real-time and static data visualizations from the “Spectrum” system) and built-in collaboration, calendar and webform tools. They rewrote Liferay’s staging for LDAP-based, page- and menu-level editing entitlements with SSO from Novell eDirectory and added a CMS hook for extend-collapse functionality. The new portal meets Mavir’s needs, performs well, and the organization plans to continue the project long-term.
