IMRB International, the largest market research group in South Asia with over 1,200 users across 19 countries, faced growing information silos as specialized business units expanded. The company struggled to centralize and surface both explicit documents and tacit knowledge, recover critical information when staff left, and provide a unified, secure way for teams to share research, training and industry data.
Partnering with InfoAxon and deploying Liferay, IMRB built the "MRB Interchange" — a single, group-wide KM platform featuring an enterprise taxonomy, searchable content, document management, "knowledge nuggets," role- and unit-based access controls and an "Ask an Expert" app. The platform drove a culture shift toward collaborative knowledge sharing, produced a rich, multi‑type repository used as a research reference, enabled faster access to quality information across units, and achieved about 80% user adoption.
