Liferay helps Intralot to bring YourPlay to Victoria with the aim of reducing money spent on gambling

Intralot Gaming Services Pty Ltd (IGS) was appointed to operate Victoria’s statewide electronic gaming machine monitoring and pre-commitment scheme, YourPlay, on behalf of the Victorian Government. The challenge was to deliver a secure, highly available, user-friendly system that integrates with gaming hardware, monitoring systems and venue kiosks, captures every transaction 24/7, handles hundreds of thousands of concurrent transactions and supports personalised limits and messaging to help reduce gambling harm.

IGS selected the Liferay platform to deliver the player interface and back-end integration, enabling encrypted registration, live on-screen summaries, limit reminders, personalised messages and play statements via web and in-venue kiosks. Since going live in December 2015 the scheme has delivered more than 2.5 million responsible-gambling messages across 818,000 sessions, activated 23,404 cards (8,130 registered), and seen strong early uptake and positive feedback for reliability, ease of use and its contribution to harm minimisation.
