Huhtamaki North America, a subsidiary of Finland-based Huhtamaki Oyj (a global packaging manufacturer with ~14,100 employees in 31 countries), needed to revamp its public website to expose product catalogs to a wider audience and integrate those catalogs with existing enterprise systems. Because catalogs spanned multiple lines of business, different teams needed an easy, consistent way to manage content while improving customer access and driving revenue.

They selected Liferay Portal with implementation partner Xtivia and used an Agile approach to build a maintainable site leveraging Liferay WCM, Documents & Media, Enterprise Search, theming, site staging, and a RESTful services tier. The launch delivered 40+ brand-aligned pages, fast responsive single-page product catalogs (AlloyUI/Backbone.js), parallax storytelling for sustainability, and a fast, easy-to-use online catalog that improved consistency, scalability and was completed on time and on budget.
