Case Study: Maiden Global Servicing Company achieves a connected, role-specific responsive intranet with Liferay

A Liferay Case Study

Preview of the Maiden Global Servicing Company Case Study

Global reinsurance company overhauls its intranet to provide effective and responsive support to its many business units

Maiden Global Servicing Company, a global reinsurance firm, needed to replace an aging, monolithic intranet that was essentially a single page of links with no search, limited permissioning, and no way to deliver site- or role-specific content across multiple business units. Their requirements included single sign-on and identity federation, a modern responsive UI, separate subsidiary sites, role-specific search, and integration with Active Directory and OAuth.

After evaluating vendors via the Gartner Magic Quadrant and running a proof of concept with XTIVIA, Maiden implemented Portal 360 on Liferay. The new intranet delivers responsive, role- and organization-specific content across six subsidiary sites, enables targeted authoring and audience controls, integrates external applications and AD authentication, and centralizes reports, feeds and IT resources—resulting in a major usability improvement and validated platform components before customer rollout.
