Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, needed to replace an aging information hub with a versatile, scalable platform that could support thousands of global users downloading large files and also serve as a partner extranet, public site, mobile app conduit and internal toolset. The E‑Business team required an agile, secure, and easy‑to‑manage solution that improved search/download performance and delivered a modern, responsive user experience across devices.

They chose Liferay and XTIVIA, deployed on AWS, and implemented a responsive portal with custom layouts, upload workflows, gated downloads, SSO, and a document search portlet backed by SolrCloud enhancements. XTIVIA trained Schneider staff and delivered integrations and additional Liferay solutions; launched in Q1 2014, the Exchange became the go‑to resource for partners and employees, providing faster search and downloads, improved productivity, stronger security, and consistently positive customer feedback.
