Digital Platform Enables Global Cooperation at Putzmeister

Putzmeister, a global manufacturer of high‑tech concrete‑placing machines with 16 subsidiaries, 12 languages and 3,000 employees, faced fragmented communication and collaboration: multiple local intranets, separate logins and roughly 5,000 documents scattered across servers. The company required a single, flexible platform with single sign‑on, personalization and decentralized content maintenance to break down silos and support international cooperation.

Working with certified partners edicos and USU AG, Putzmeister implemented Liferay’s platform—leveraging its CMS/DMS, workflow, permissions and SSO—to consolidate content, enable decentralized editing and connect diverse applications. The rollout created a global intranet plus eight local intranets, team sites and a distributor extranet, centralized product information and contacts, consolidated about 5,000 documents, improved global communication and collaboration, and set the stage for SAP integration and further after‑sales enhancements.
