Case Study: INEP achieves a secure, scalable portal and simplified content management with Liferay

Brazilian education's provides greater functionality to online services

The National Institute of Studies and Educational Researches (INEP), a federal agency under Brazil’s Ministry of Education responsible for educational assessments and public information, needed a new portal in 2010 to support the ENEM. The existing site was static HTML with no content migration tools, forcing press teams to rely on infrastructure staff for manual updates and risking downtime during peak enrollment periods.

SEA Tecnologia migrated the site to Liferay and implemented a modern information architecture, decentralizing content management and improving integration between Infrastructure, Communication and Development. The new platform securely handled millions of ENEM enrollments while cutting infrastructure to just two machines, and delivered strong positive feedback from both the public and INEP staff.
