An effective HR portal for France-based employees

Orange, a global telecommunications operator with 152,000 employees worldwide and 93,000 in France, needed to replace an unsustainable, single-person–managed PHP HR portal that could not meet growing business demands. The HR department sought an industrialized, upgradeable solution to increase contributions, speed integration of new services and make site creation quicker and more autonomous for business teams.

Orange Applications for Business implemented a Liferay-based HR portal comprising 35 sites, four themes, templates, workflows, staging and SSO-based security, with an Anoo entry point for HR services and dedicated sites for mobility and HR managers. The scalable platform centralizes ~12,000 content items across 950 pages, enables self-service site creation (11 page templates, ~30 article templates), improves employee access and engagement, speeds HR processes, and frees HR teams to focus on higher-value work while supporting up to 1 million monthly page views.
