Allianz Australia Insurance Ltd, the country’s fourth-largest general insurer with over three million policyholders and a major workers’ compensation provider, faced a digital shortfall: its website was primarily informational and underperforming as a sales and customer engagement tool, leaving it vulnerable to more innovative competitors and unable to support seamless online purchases and interactions.
Allianz selected Liferay to build My Insurance Portfolio, a fully integrated customer portal that links to existing databases to provide a single online identity, aggregated policy views, quote history, bill payments, and renewal alerts—even for non-Allianz policies added by customers. The result was a more convenient, interactive experience that strengthened customer service, streamlined sales and marketing efforts, and delivered the required functionality within time and budget.
