Genworth Financial, a leading U.S. insurance holding company focused on mortgage and long‑term care insurance, faced an outdated, hard‑to‑manage intranet that functioned like a static newsletter. The legacy system made content publishing slow and struggled to support the needs of diverse business groups, community sites, and customer service teams across hundreds of separate sites.
Genworth rebuilt its digital workplace on Liferay DXP with help from Liferay Global Services, consolidating roughly 700–800 sites into a single platform that supports web content management, team sites, collaboration tools, and a self‑service knowledge base for customer service. The new intranet doubled performance and improved uptime, simplified content management and maintenance, and enabled better employee collaboration — with further enhancements planned using cloud and analytics.
