A redesigned portal helped one of the largest private universities in Brazil better serve its students

The University of Fortaleza (Unifor), one of Brazil’s largest private universities with over 25,000 students, faced an aging public portal that made it hard for students and prospects to find course and service information. The institution needed a more intuitive, mobile-responsive site, streamlined publishing and validation processes, and greater agility and autonomy for its Marketing team while integrating with existing academic systems.

Unifor partnered with Entelgy and implemented an agile, user-tested redesign on Liferay DXP, adding an API layer, improved front- and back-end apps, and features like multisite management, drag-and-drop page creation, role provisioning and an automated publishing workflow. The result was a mobile-responsive portal with seamless legacy-system integration, Marketing autonomy to build templates and manage approvals, and 1.5 million unique page views in the first three months.
