North Lincolnshire Council - Customer Case Study

North Lincolnshire Council, a unitary authority serving around 153,000 people with some 7,200 employees, faced fragmented, decentralized software procurement and lacked consolidated visibility of licence ownership. Working with License Dashboard (and integrated discovery tools), the council needed to reconcile disparate purchase records and vendor consumption data while keeping budget-holder responsibility, addressing the risk of over- and under-licensing across directorates.

License Dashboard delivered a combined solution—integrating FrontRange Discovery data, running its Data Cleanse Service and providing a web-based SAM tool—to create a single License Register and reporting interface. The work produced a cleansed inventory (700 licensable and 4,300 non-licensable products), enabled license load‑balancing between directorates, reduced true-up costs by 25%, and gave the council ongoing compliance reporting and improved purchasing control with License Dashboard.
