Muttart Family Business installs 3 elevators in 13 months with Liberty Elevator Corporation

The Muttart family business faced the unique challenge of installing new, highly customized elevators within the limited space and historical constraints of the Statue of Liberty as part of a major life and safety upgrade project. Liberty Elevator Corporation was selected to provide the vertical transportation solution, which included a passenger elevator, a handicap lift, and an emergency elevator.

Liberty Elevator Corporation implemented an energy-efficient Machine Room-Less passenger elevator with a regenerative drive, a custom LULA handicap lift with an unusually long rise, and a rack and pinion emergency elevator with unique safety features. The project was completed despite a delay from Hurricane Sandy, and the successful integration of these systems earned Liberty Elevator Corporation the 'Project of the Year' award for 2014 from Elevator World magazine.
