Hudson Yards elevates The Vessel with Liberty Elevator Corporation’s 139-foot custom lift

Liberty Elevator Corporation was engaged by Hudson Yards to address the unique challenge of integrating an elevator into The Vessel, an open-air artistic structure. The project required a solution that would provide universal access without compromising the landmark's aesthetic integrity, all while adhering to New York's strict ADA requirements and withstanding harsh outdoor weather conditions.

The solution implemented by Liberty Elevator Corporation was a custom-designed, oval glass elevator cab that travels along a nonlinear, curved track. This one-of-a-kind system utilized cutting-edge technology, including a wireless Busbar control system and a rack and pinion drive mechanism, to provide a smooth ride with 360-degree views. The successful installation provided seamless access for all visitors and earned Liberty Elevator and its partners the 2020 Project of the Year Award from Elevator World magazine.
