Switching Exchanges Leads to Increased Employee Engagement and Appreciation of Benefits Offerings

Consumer Finance Company, a 5,000-employee consumer finance organization with more than 1,000 locations across nearly 20 states, needed a better way to manage benefits as it grew rapidly, faced ACA-related complexity, and struggled with a self-funded plan and an employee population that didn’t understand its existing private exchange. It turned to Liazon for a more intuitive private exchange solution with stronger decision support, education, and personalized service.

Liazon implemented a private exchange with consumer-facing choice, defined contribution support, analytics, Spanish-language services, and built-in phone/email assistance, along with a change-management rollout that included announcements, trainings, meetings, and enrollment support. The results were strong: all four medical plans were selected, average medical premiums were 9% lower than on the prior exchange, HSA-plan enrollment rose 12%, telemedicine enrollment reached 16%, and ancillary benefit participation increased significantly, including Critical Illness up 51%, Hospital Indemnity up 71%, and Pet Insurance up 67%.
