The College of St. Scholastica increases graduate applications by 30%

The College of St. Scholastica, a small private college in northern Minnesota, faced limited geographic reach and an admissions office overwhelmed by paper applications, recommendations and transcripts. To increase applicants without adding marketing spend and to streamline manual work, The College of St. Scholastica adopted Liaison’s Centralized Application Services (CASs) — beginning with PTCAS and later adding OTCAS, NursingCAS, CASPA and ATCAS — and used the WebAdMIT portal to manage and report on admissions data.

Liaison’s CASs digitized workflows and reporting, creating a paperless admissions environment and clearer program-level metrics; as a result Liaison helped The College of St. Scholastica increase graduate applications by 30% (CAS program applicants rose 75% from 320 to 559), reduce application processing time by 50% (from about 6 weeks to 3 weeks), save the equivalent of one full-time staff member, boost applicant diversity and quality (Nursing minority and male acceptances +10%, higher average GPAs and GRE scores), and secure an institutional grant for further technology.
