Palo Alto University adopts and advocates a streamlined application process

Palo Alto University faced a cumbersome, paper-based admissions process for its graduate and doctoral psychology programs and sought an electronic solution. The school adopted PSYCAS, the Centralized Application Service (CAS™) launched by the American Psychological Association in partnership with Liaison, to replace manual scanning and processing and modernize its admissions workflow.

Liaison implemented PSYCAS along with its Enrollment Marketing Platform (EMP™) and integrated the system with PAU’s Jenzabar enrollment platform, delivering a fully electronic, customizable application process in an eight-week rollout. The change increased completed applications (PsyD up 8% year‑over‑year; Ph.D. up 1.5%), improved reporting and applicant data access, reduced update time to about a week, and freed staff to focus on counseling rather than application logistics.
