Ku Executive Director of MBA and MSB Programs Discusses Trends and Triumphs in Graduate Management Education

The University of Kansas (KU) School of Business faced shifting graduate management education trends — declining international applications, a changing age mix of applicants, and the need to streamline admissions while boosting program visibility and quality. To tackle these challenges, KU partnered with Liaison and adopted Liaison’s centralized application service, BusinessCAS, as a way to simplify application workflows and reach more prospective students.

Liaison implemented BusinessCAS at KU (go‑live March 31, 2018), integrating with KU’s systems and using Liaison admissions specialists to speed transcript and document processing, create a common “front door” for applicants, and reduce applicant burden. KU reports stronger-quality admissions and career outcomes, and the school has realized major program gains — rising at least 27 spots in the U.S. News & World Report rankings to #73 overall (#39 among public schools) — with KU leaders expecting Liaison’s BusinessCAS to further increase visibility and applicant quality.
