A Liaison Case Study

An Expansive Set of Solutions for Applicants and Programs

The American Psychological Association (APA) faced growing faculty frustration around submitting multiple recommendation letters and creating accounts on many application sites, and sought a centralized solution to simplify recruiting and better understand the nascent psychology workforce. Working with vendor Liaison, APA launched PSYCAS™, the Centralized Application Service (CAS™) for graduate psychology programs to streamline applications for applicants, recommenders and programs.

Liaison implemented PSYCAS™ as a single platform that centralizes applications and collects standardized admissions data. Now in its third admissions cycle with 70 programs at 28 institutions, PSYCAS™ is producing actionable pipeline insights APA uses to advise programs and applicants, reduce administrative burden, build a peer user community, and attract higher‑quality applicants—demonstrating clear adoption and measurable impact.
