Sandvik Mining and Construction, a global engineering group serving customers in over 130 countries, faced a sharp demand rebound and a fragmented IT landscape with dozens of locations, many local ERP systems and inconsistent supplier processes. To meet increased market demand cost‑effectively and streamline its global supply chain, Sandvik chose Liaison Technologies to design and implement a standardized, company‑wide supplier integration program called SupplierConnect.

Liaison delivered Integration Services and the SupplierWeb portal to normalize purchase orders, advance shipping notices and electronic invoicing across more than ten ERP systems, using a parallel rollout and pilot approach with strict acceptance testing. The result was a faster global rollout, higher buyer productivity, standardized KPIs and visibility into supplier changes (order confirmations dropped to 2% in one instance), extremely low invoice error rates (4,400 invoices with only one issue in a go‑live month) and avoided costs of consolidating ERP systems.
