Refuse Parts Depot Integrates Key Systems to Improve Customer Service

Refuse Parts Depot, a Lexington, KY–based supplier of OEM and aftermarket parts for refuse and waste-management trucks, faced a complex technology challenge when a major customer required punchout access from their Ariba spend management system. RPD’s storefront ran on Magento, which doesn’t natively support punchout, and the customer also wanted a “Draft Cart” feature and QuickBooks integration to handle custom quotes — requirements that stretched RPD’s small IT team.

RPD engaged PunchOut2Go for a punchout-capable Magento extension and teamed with Liaison Technologies to link Ariba, PunchOut2Go, Magento and QuickBooks. The integrated solution accepts draft quotes, converts QuickBooks invoices to orders in the cloud, and pushes them into Magento with buyer notifications for Ariba punchout. The project delivered automated processes, greater efficiency and scalability, faster quoting and ordering, and was completed on time and on budget, improving service for current and future customers.
