MacPherson’s Takes EDI to the Cloud with Liaison Managed Services

MacPherson’s, a national wholesale distributor of art and craft supplies with multiple warehouses and over 40,000 SKUs, added EDI in 2007 to serve national chain customers. Rapid growth pushed its on-premises ADX desktop EDI system beyond capacity—requiring frequent archiving—and the company faced complex EDI standards, many legacy formats, and costly per-character pricing that made small, high-line-count orders uneconomical.

After Liaison acquired ADX, MacPherson’s migrated to Liaison Managed Services’ cloud platform, which handled all translations and formats, preserved existing back-end processes, and converted operations with no disruption. The move delivered scalable, redundant infrastructure, simpler pre-paid per-document pricing for ~275,000 annual transactions, reduced IT overhead, a single point of contact for issues, and more predictable, efficient EDI operations.
